Whatever the cause of gum infection it is important to prevent its progression. Untreated gum infection can lead to periodontitis in which it is the advance stage of periodontal disease. The condition affects the gum tissues and the bones that give support to the teeth. When gum tissues and the bones are damage, tooth becomes loose and pockets are formed in the gumline and it can even lead to tooth loss. Why wait for gum infection to progress to serious dental condition if you can prevent it before it takes place?
